Bernard has, so far, released six solo albums and a double album of his rock opera. His five most recent albums were entirely recorded in his own studio with Bernard acting as musician, music arranger, recording engineer and producer (as well as lead and backing vocalist). Bernard’s skills and equipment enable him to truly be a one-man band, orchestra and choir.

Bernard has acted as recording engineer, session musician and producer for a number of other recording artists and has created complete backing tracks for the musicals The Yellow Star and It's Cool in the Furnace part II. He has also arranged and produced recordings of a number of songs from the musical Little Town - The Journey.

His music and technical abilities and equipment enable him to produce professional musical arrangements in rock, country and pop styles through to fully orchestrated pieces in operatic and music theatre styles and anything in between.

Bernard has personally written and arranged more than 50 songs, (music, lyrics and orchestration), including an entire musical of his own, Jesus – Messiah. He also wrote two songs for the musical The Yellow Star and has written a number of songs in collaboration with his sister, Virginia Lakeman who is also an accomplished music composer, arranger and educator.
